Sane feminism as defined by me….

and I quite believe this describes most feminists.

Sane feminism recognizes that men are privileged in this society in almost every way. Men hold the power and have done so completely and for so long we — women and men — don’t even recognize how deeply ingrained this power differential is.

About porn and sexual victimization of women: It is ubiquitous and a serious issue. Rape is a weapon used against women. Porn is, also.

Women are disadvantaged in terms of personal freedom, wages, and power in general.

Sane feminists recognize this and work to change this. The goal, however, is equality for women and men. All men are not rapists. Some men, believe it or not, are kind and value women. Men are not the enemy. Many men are valuable allies and deserve to be treated with respect.

“What about the men?”   Which man?  Just as women vary in degrees of decency, so do men.  Which man are we talking about?

For the record, I am anti-porn, think prostitution is victimization, and do NOT think all men are rapists or cannot be trusted.

Sane Feminists: Speak Out Against the Blog-Rad-Fem Extremists!

Feminism is NOT the caricature presented by the rad fem blog crowd.  These sexist hysterics would have you believe all men are evil, rapists lurk around every corner, and their rage is the only justified emotion in existence.

Fact is, rape does happen, and it happens far too often.  It goes unpunished far too frequently.  There is danger in teh world.  However, that reality is a far cry from the hysterical bleating on these rad fem blogs.

We must reclaim feminism from these extremists.  Are you feminist?  Are you sane?  If so, speak out!

Blog-land’s “Rad Fems”…Rush Limbaugh in disguise?

It seems I’m a bully. This from a woman who comes to my blog and starts out with “Wow, talk about missing the point….Did you even read the whole entry?” So, her first words to me say, in effect, “You’re stupid and lazy (because you don’t agree with me).” She goes on to say, “Is the only thing you care about men? Does the fact that men take advantage of their male privilege to rape and feel entitled to women’s bodies not matter to you?” Here she says “You are a slave to men and you don’t care about women. In fact, you support rape.” A tad hostile, wouldn’t you say?

Then she continues with, ‘Stop saying “what about teh menz!?”’ Now where did I say that?” Even spelled correctly, where did I say that? Hmmm….Illiterate as well as paranoid, it seems. She continues her rant with , “I am sick and tired of it. I used to think the same way you do, and I used to react the same way as you did to posts like mine. But you know what? I realized after many many years of developing as a feminist that most men rape.” So, here this font of wisdom tells me I’m stupid and she’s way more mature than I. Uhuh…..and the moon is made of green cheese, little girl.

The rant continues,”Where did I say all men rape, anyway?” In fact, she said “Men rape. Yeah. You fuckin heard me. MEN RAPE. Men fucking rape.” Need I say more?” Her oh-so-erudite response goes into psycho-land here. “Get over myself? This is not about me.” Narcissism, meet your poster child. She goes on, “It’s about men, and their male privilege.” Ok, back to where she said all men rape…here it is again. “It’s about men.” Then, her tantrum continues with ‘Try having an open mind about the many forms of feminism before making statements along the lines of “oh, these bitches are just bitter and have no justification for their anger.”’ Hmmm…open mind? That one is so funny it’s sad. And, finally,
“If you actually read my full entry, you would have understood that that rage, that anger, is very much justified.” Christ. I kid you not, this child takes herself seriously.

Her next entry is this: “Go back to my blog and see the links Polly Styrene has kindly provided for you in the comments section for “Not My Nigel”, as you are clearly suspicious of other women and probably won’t believe anything I say anyway.” So, she comes on my blog and issues orders as if she’s some wise woman talking to a retarded fool. And since I don’t buy her crap, I’m “suspicious of other women.” Huh? That’s some compelling logic there…not!

Now comes another zinger from psycholand:”Oh, and your snide tone and condescending attitude to me as well as other feminists is not going to win anyone over.” Me snide? Me condescending? LMFAO! One thing she got almost right is ‘The fact that you call yourself a “sane” feminist implies that every other feminist who doesn’t agree with you is “insane” or “raging.”’ This one is both, I think. And she follows with “Where have I heard that stereotype thrown around about women before?” Don’t know about stereotype, but apparently I’m not the first one to point out to her she’s got serious problems.

Next she goes on to say, “What do you mean by “get over yourself”? It doesn’t even make any sense. Am I full of myself simply because my observations conflict with yours? Am I full of myself because I am deconstructing male violence against women? What is your problem exactly? Does acknowleging violence against women hurt you in some way? Incredible how some women can get so damned defensive for men.” I kid you not. It reaches levels of absurdity unparalleled. She ends with “Funny, since the only feedback I’ve been getting from you is bullshit and rudeness.” I kid you not.

The capper, though, is when she and like-minded ragers speculate elsewhere that I’m male. A touch sexist, hmmmm? The obvious explanation is that she has serious problems. You know what I think, though? I think she’s a Rush Limbaugh plant. She’s a rightwinger faking being a feminist in order to give the neocons “data” to support their misogyny. Yup. I wouldn’t be surprised. LMFAO!

OMG, The Rad Fem Blog Crew Displays Sexism!

I’m laughing so hard I can barely type! I popped over to “Lara’s” little blog and found I’ve been the topic of discussion. It seems these anti-woman types — yes, I said anti-woman–thinks that anyone who doesn’t rage incoherently (like they do) but instead speaks with authority instead of cowering must be a MAN!
OMG, their sexism is astonishing! They’ve decided that because I’m “aggressive” and issue “instructions” I’m a man! I might wet my pants I’m laughing so hard! And then they talk about stereotyping. Who’d'a thought? I suppose I could post a photo of my breasts, or describe when I gave birth, or talk about menstrual cramps, but why should I? Let them expose their idiocy and bigotry. These fools hate women!

Good lord.
